All Candidates Forums
Our party is focused on the economy and job creation. This was demonstrated in Budget 2011; in which the opposition coalition didn't support. While I remain focused on you, your family, your job, your pension, and your future, the NDP remain focused on themselves and political opportunism. We did not want this election. However, the NDP and their coalition partners forced this election on the Canadian public.
Immediately following the election call my schedule filled up with requests for my attendance at events across the riding. Thanks to volunteers and supporters my schedule was set. Due to the vast number of requests and size of the riding it was impossible for me to attend every single all candidate forums.
It was unfortunate that I was unable to make the debate in Revelstoke, due to a pre-scheduled 7am coffee event in the Elk Valley. However, I have spent days campaigning in Revelstoke hosting coffee parties, door knocking, and mainstreeting. The people of Revelstoke have told me that their number one concern is the Trans Canada Highway. That is why our party has invested over half a billion dollars into improvements but more needs to be done. This highlights the importance of having a Member of Parliament in government. I will work with all levels of government to make improvements to the Trans Canada Highway.
I was unable to attend the debate in Kimberley due to an event scheduled in Revelstoke. This event was planned well in advance of the debate so I didn't want to cancel. I made a promise to the people of Revelstoke that I didn't want to break. The same is true for Invermere. We had a free hamburger event planed in Cranbrook with coupons and invitations handed out well in advance of the Invermere debate.
While the other parties remain focused on opportunism, I remain focused on you, your family, your job, and your future. I promise to bring the voices of Kootenay Columbia to Ottawa.
